It sounds sort of silly, just being a video game and furthermore just a different set of colors on a pokemon, but I was incredibly excited to have found a shiny, and then to have caught it and actually had my own shiny that wasn't the freebie Gyarados. ![]() Once I realized that, I was ecstatic and speechless. It took me a second to realize that I didn't have a video of a shiny pokemon playing, and that the sound actually came from my own game. I'd watched some videos of people finding shinies and stuff, but one night, I was training a team member in Celestial Tower during my playthrough of Black 2, and I heard the sparkle sound. A big reason I started getting into the games last year was because of shinies, and I had the intention of shiny hunting once Black 2 came out and after I beat it. I was completely stunned when my first shiny appeared. The one that wasn't a scripted in game event (red gyrados) and done so without using Game Shark or Action Replay. Are these computer parts compatible, good quality, and stable?.HTH I am not in any way affiliated with any company mentioned just a happy customer then it will be your idea of what looks good/cool and not somebody elses! 4) Why buy a 500Gb drive when a 1Tb is less than £20 more? I am a bit of a hoarder myself and my hard drives are full of software, games, videos, pictures, applications that I should just delete but cant bring myself to do so, so on Monday I am passing RLSupplies and will be picking up a WD Red 1Tb SATA 3 hard drive for £65.94 and replacing what ever is the oldest drive I have, that will then go into one of many external cases and used for back ups Links. I only play games like Fallout 3 and New Vegas (with shed loads of mods) or Rome total war, Starcraft 1 and 2 or Command and Conquer Generals/Zero hour and my PC that most of the bits I have listed are in will run the Fallout's on there highest graphics setting and depth of field perfectly good enough for me (no lag/stutter or crashes) My point is 1) If you are working to a "tight budget" then spend more on the Motherboard (which you have not mentioned) and find one that has plenty of up grade capability, as in my case from a lowly 2 core up to 6 if needed 2) Don't economise on budget RAM buy branded (see ) and heat sink kits if needed 3) Buy a large plain cheap case and customize it your self, you will be amazed at what can be achieved with a jigsaw, plastic card, a couple of cans spray paint and some LED's. ![]() All my hard drives are second hand there are 20 in 3 machines the smallest are two 40Gb SATA WD blacks lifted from Dell work stations which I was asked to upgrade to SSD's and they now just have the OS's on in two of my machines, the largest are 2 WD 300Gb SATA drives from IMAC's (for the same reason as the Dell's upgrade and these machines can only have 1 HDD). Last year one of my PC's motherboards died and not having a lot of spare cash, I had to build a new one as cheap as possible, so I bought a N68C-S UCC for just under £60 this board will take the old 2Gb of DDR2 1066 RAM and can be up graded to 8Gb DDR3 1600, it will also take my AMD X2 64 5000 (which I bought from a PC recycling company in Watford on Ebay that cost me £23 with one years warranty) and can be up graded to most of the AMD family 2-4-6 core CPU's, this board will also take my Asus GT 610 2Gb which I bought for under £50, this is fan-less, because I am sick and tired of the fans packing up on graphics cards and then they cook, so fan less, but cut a hole in my cheap PC tower and added a quiet 120 fan (under £10 from Maplin) just to give peace of mind and some extra air flow, there is also the same fitted in the front to blow a bit of air over the 7 HDD's, all powered from a Antec 700w PSU that I found dumped in a skip just around the corner (and the cheap 7x3.5 inch bay case I have mentioned), I got a new Zalman CPU cooler for under £30 which will cover me for any CPU up 4 core 120w AMD or INTEL (the old one was and is fine just did not like the noises it was making). I've went through a local website, picked out what i see as mid range Essentially, i want to get into the world of PC gaming! First of all, i'm clueless, hence yahoo answers. ![]()
